Fall of 2024… it could well be a season we remember for years. Change is in the air!

Change can be exciting and unsettling. Longed for and dreaded. Though the promise of sweater weather and hot chocolate are in the air, there is also the possibility of disturbance. This is a time that we, as the people of God, get to make a decision about who we are. We get to choose to “love our neighbors as ourselves” by focusing on what unites us rather than what divides us as we invite the mind of Christ to lead us.

We humans like to ask, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” and God likes to answer, “YES!” When we look out for one another, know one another, LOVE one another, all the looming divisions grow smaller and become insignificant as sharing the peace and hope of Christ becomes everything.

In our September sermon series, GOOD NEIGHBORS, we’ll look at multiple places in scripture with the questions:

“What makes a good neighbor?”

“What makes a bad neighbor?”

“What kind of neighbor am I?”

We’ll learn together through scripture and grow in discernment about what kind of neighbors we want to be.

We’ll kick-off this sermon series on September 1st with, “Love Your Neighbor! It’s the Law!” with scripture passages from Leviticus (Yes, Leviticus!), Deuteronomy (C’mon! It’ll be fun!) and Matthew (Gotta have some Jesus!). We’ll gain insight into how love fulfills the law and why we humans often lean into law rather than love.

Come worship with us! And bring a neighbor!!
