Advent 2021

Advent 2021

Advent is the Christian season of waiting and preparing for the coming of Christ on Christmas Day. I want to extend a special invitation to worship during Advent as we will be lighting the candles of the Advent wreath and enjoying special music of the season the four Sundays before Christmas. Sunday, December 19, in worship, our choir will share a live, Covid safe, special Advent/Christmas cantata during worship.

This year FPCMV will also be providing Advent devotional booklets for all those who are interested. The theme for the devotion is “Close to Home,” created by Sanctified Art, found at sanctifiedart.org.

Sanctified Art is a ministry that emerged to support worshiping communities in integrating art and creativity into their spiritual practices. The daily devotionals are a blend of study, reflection, prayer and creativity.

You will find some of the artwork from Sanctified Art on our bulletin covers through the month of December.

This season we will also be gathering each Wednesday evening at 7pm to reflect together on the “Close to Home” daily devotions.

Please check our website’s Events page for details on the activities mentioned here and for other special Advent/Christmas happenings in the life of our congregation.

I look forward to sharing the Advent/Christmas season with you this year.
