I started thinking of the Old Testament prophets in this light. God is sending His messengers, His NEWS-CARRIERS, out to every highway and byway, out to every town square and marketplace shouting, “Get your headlines here!”. Hot off the presses of heaven, God is proclaiming the biggest news in all world history: The Messiah is coming! The Messiah is sent for YOU!
In this Advent season, as we prepare ourselves for the biggest news to hit our newsstands, we’ll listen to the headlines of God’s prophets. What were they announcing? Amidst terrible times, horror and despair, what was the PROMISE they kept proclaiming?
You’ll hear it here first through the words of the prophets themselves as you join us in worship each Sunday of Advent and especially in our candlelit Christmas Eve service at 7pm on December 24th.
