One of the most important factors for growth in the church is how loving we are as Christians. It is critical and a must that the churches of today learn to be loved-filled communities. It’s love that reaches people. We don’t argue people into the kingdom, or ask people to be just like us. We LOVE them into the community. So, how do we LOVE them?
● Accept Everybody
Have you ever been in a church of spiritual snobs? Do you know why people have a hard time accepting? They confuse acceptance with approval. There is a big difference between acceptance and approval. You can accept somebody without approving of their lifestyle. Roman 15:7 says, “Accept one another just as Christ accepted you.” At FPCMV we are creating an attitude of acceptance. Hopefully, we are a church that is a hospital for sinners, not a house of saints.
● Appreciate Everybody
This goes a little bit further than acceptance. Philippians 2:25 says, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourself. Each of you should look not only to your own interests but also in the interest of others.” Appreciate everybody. Find something you like in them and tell them. What a boring church we would be if we all shared the same personality! ● Affirm Everybody
Build people up when you can! 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, “Encourage one another and build each other up.” Be an encourager not a condemner. You can encourage people just by smiling at them. Give a welcome and a warm hello.
Absolutely nothing can stop the church that is filled with LOVE. LOVE draws outside people in. Nothing can stop a loving church!
See You in Worship!
